About Snap-Gotcha

Hi! I’m Burleigh McCune.  And this is my studio: Snap-Gotcha Photography. I’m very glad to meet you.  Let me tell you a little about myself.

The first camera I remember having was an old Polaroid Instamatic back in the mid 1970’s. I used to walk around with that camera around my neck thinking I was so cool.

The first camera I ever bought was a Canon Sure Shot when my oldest daughter was just 2 months old.  I remember thinking it was the most important purchase I would ever make.  I wanted to capture everything, her first smile, her first steps, the silly faces she would make. I didn’t want to miss a thing.  I wanted to capture those moments so that I could relive them over and over again.  I love to look at old photos. I actually still have that camera in a drawer.  It served me well over the years. Twenty-seven years, three grown kids and two grandchildren later I still don’t want to miss a thing.

My children are my inspiration. I cut my figurative eyeteeth on my sons many sporting events.  Indoor lighting was a challenge but I mastered that while taking shots at basketball games. Night photography? You got it, Friday night football under the big lights. Stopping action? Sliding into home plate, of course. When it came time for Senior pictures, I found that having them taken by a “Professional” was just too expensive so I decided I would try my hand at that as well.

When my last child was a senior in high school I felt it was time to follow my dreams.  So I went back to school and studied photography.  That is probably the biggest challenge I have ever faced.  You kind of have to forget all you THINK you know and start from scratch.  After completing all the requirements, badgering my family and friends to pose for me; and two years later I earned my Certificate in Photography.

So what’s the next step? I opened a Photography studio to help others like myself who don’t want to miss a thing.  I want to provide affordable Professional photography so that everyone can afford to capture the little things that give us so much pleasure.

My passion is to bring value and fun back into Photography.  I look forward to getting to know you and your families.

Here’s to happy shooting…
